Kid Calls Me Yesterday Being All Smart
Yesterday some kid calls asking why wholesale iPhone 11 prices on my website cost so much. Found another guy selling way cheaper apparently.
“Your prices are crazy high, this other dude is like sixty dollars less per phone.”
Oh sweetie. You have no clue what’s about to happen to you.
Back When I Thought I Knew Everything
Eighteen months ago I’m cruising along nice with my wholesale iPhone 11 thing. Moving maybe fifty phones monthly, decent cash coming in, feeling like hot stuff.
See this website advertising iPhone 11s for $175 each. Everyone else wants $220 minimum.
Brain goes stupid. Forty-five extra profit per phone, buy thirty phones, boom – over a thousand extra dollars. What could go wrong?
Website Looked Too Good
Super professional. Customer reviews everywhere, Better Business Bureau logo, whole nine yards. Testimonials from satisfied customers raving about amazing service.
Red flag number one – real businesses don’t try this hard to look legit.
Call expecting voicemail. Guy answers first ring like he’s been sitting there waiting for calls. Should have hung up right there.
This Guy Could Sell Ice to Eskimos
Knew every detail about iPhone 11s. Storage options, carrier stuff, condition grades, everything. Sounded like total pro.
Says he’s moving corporate overstock from major tech company. Can’t reveal which one because of legal agreements and confidentiality stuff.
Perfect explanation for cheap pricing. Made me feel special getting insider deal.
Asking for Photos Was Mistake
“Send me pictures of actual phones I’m buying?”
Long pause. You could hear him thinking.
“These match Apple specs perfectly. Stock photos show exactly what you get.”
Sends Apple marketing photos from 2019. When I push for real pictures, attitude changes fast.
“Look man, want these or not? Three other buyers ready to take whole batch.”
Pressure move worked perfectly on my greedy ass.
Sample Phones Were Perfect Bait
Smart bastard offers sending five samples first. Let me test quality before bigger order.
Samples arrive looking factory fresh. Perfect condition, great packaging, batteries at full health, everything promised.
Hook, line, sinker. Figured guy legitimately found good source, just lucky timing.
Threw Away $6,125 Like Idiot
Order thirty-five phones. Insists wire transfer only for orders over five grand. Credit card fees supposedly kill margins.
Giant red flag ignored because greed made me stupid. Wire transfers have zero protection. Money gone forever once sent.
Wire $6,125 Thursday morning. Confirms receipt, promises Friday shipping.
Monday Was Nightmare
Beat-up box arrives Monday. No branding, no professional anything, phones thrown in with bubble wrap like garbage.
First phone – cracked screen. Second phone – dented corner.
Third phone – completely dead.
Go through all thirty-five. Maybe eight decent. Rest are refurb trash with cheap parts, dead batteries, obvious damage.
One had family vacation photos still on it. Disney World 2021.
Guy Vanished Into Thin Air
Call immediately. Number disconnected. Not busy, not voicemail – gone.
Email bounces back.
Website still up but forms don’t work. Dude disappeared with my money completely.
Bank Says Too Bad
Call bank hoping they can help. Lady basically laughs at me.
“Wire transfers don’t have buyer protection. Money’s gone.”
Credit cards protect you. Wire transfers leave you screwed.
Selling Junk for Months
List everything on eBay as parts phones. Price them $45-65 just to move.
Buyers complain constantly. Negative feedback, disputes, endless problems.
Make back maybe $1,800. Lose over three grand plus weeks of headaches.
Warning Everyone Now
When people call about cheap wholesale iPhone 11 deals, tell them this story. Some listen. Some think they’re smarter.
Get calls back weeks later after getting burned asking if I have phones.
Three Grand Education
Learned wholesale iPhone 11 isn’t about cheapest prices. It’s about suppliers who won’t steal your money.
Pay honest prices to honest people. Everything else is gambling.
